1963 Chris Craft Cavalier restoration project. I literally just got back (6-20-08) from Lewiston ID with this boat and trailer. I purchased the package for the triple axle trailer but it turns out that it's too long unless I do major modification for my boat. The Chris Craft is a viable rebuild project that just didn't get finished and put on Lake Couer D'Alene. The boat was from Seattle originally. It's had a new bottom put on it in a Seattle yard before going east. It looks like all the parts are there, stringers and structural look good. One 283 engine/trans is complete on a pallett, the other is disassembled. The previous owner had a lot of paperwork/research on the boat, just never finished it. The boat also has brand new rear canvas. The trialer is a 15K# galvanized Pacific triple axle, channel construction w/ saltwater washout. Pulled great, hubs stayed cool, has bearing buddies. It's a bunk trailer, not rollers. It's got a fresh license good through June 2009. It's had new bearings & brake shoes and the master surge cylinder rebuilt. I just pulled it home from Idaho with the boat on and it pulled & tracked great, no side tugs or jerks when braking. Hubs ran cool & tires look almost new. Good shape for it's age. Rudder is fixed in place to aid in tracking, but the string,foot pedal system is gone. The boat is still easy enough to maneuver.

I have taken this boat out in puget sound, and had a great time, even in some rougher weather. That said, i think it's designed more as a flat water racing type boat.

This boat is NOT for beginners. It's very tipsy, narrow, and fast, just getting into it can be a challenge, and tracking correctly with two people requires the appropriate level of team-work.

The only reason i'm selling it is that I prefer canoes, and the larger range of positions one can be in. I don't feel flexible enough in the hips to stay comfortable long in kayaks....

Hello, we are letting our boat go as we can no longer tow it. It looks very nice and has only a minor mechanical issue with the motor raising and lowering. I've paid a nice mechanic who has it in the "up" position for traveling and he will make himself available for this minor repair. I can pass along his contact information.
The trailer is quite rusty but reliable enough to get it to your location when you come tow it out.

The Motor is an OMC 4.0L Cobra and runs strong, starts easily, idles great. Hummingbird fish finder and working lights. It sleeps 2 comfortably, has wooden doors for privacy and a popup skylight. The bimini top is in decent shape, and the interior is in very good shape with newer upholstery.

This one has the ash and wicker seats, not the nylon straps, and it has the anodized aluminum gunwales. This isn�t the cheapie Polylink model. I�m including a Seattle Sports $70 Canoe Cart, 2 good flotation vests, 3 good paddles, painter, a pair of pro portaging shoulder fixtures, 4 cartop bumpers and an entire spare rear seat (slightly ripped wicker). Put it on your car and go for it. I hauled this on a Nissan pickup and a Subaru Outback, and had little hassle. I just don�t have time for it anymore, and no place to put it. Wish I did; it certainly paddles easily, especially with two.

This boat holds 1,100 pounds and weighs just 58. That canoe cart is slick, and makes easy work of getting it to the water. It makes it a one-woman operation, even though the canoe is an awkward 16� long. And yes, I do know I strapped the cart on backwards.

This is a very clean freshwater used, Mercury 9.9 short shaft outboard with electric start that has a 1995 9.9 powerhead on it! When I got the motor, the original powerhead was seized up from storing the motor incorrectly, allowing water to get up in the cylinders. I got it freed up, but compression was down to about 85/90Lbs, and it did not run quite right, so I found a low hour freshwater clean 1995 9.9 electric start motor, and switched out the powerheads! This '95 9.9. motor had a bad lower unit, so it worked out great swapping the powerheads. The serial# of the '98 is OG 609195, and the '95 is OG 092684. This runs excellent and has 110 Lbs compression on both cylinders which is really good! The electric start works flawlessly, and it also has recoil start, and has the tiller handle with throttle and shift in it together, as well as the electric start button and kill switch! The only thing that I repainted was the prop, because the paint had come off of it on the blade edges, otherwise is all original paint both the motor and powerhead. When I purchased, it was test run and it did not pump water, So I put a new complete impeller kit in it. I tested the compression at 135 on both cylinders and the lower unit oil is free of water but needs to be changed. The motor seems to be mechanically sound but not pretty. This motor looks new on the outside, but was run in salt and not flushed. it eventually overheated and siezed. All the other parts are in great shape and look very good (although the hood has some scratches/paint chips). This would make a great parts motor. It also has the saddle tank that fits aroun the mid section to keep extra fuel tanks out of your boat. Even the plastic prop is in very good shape. Call my cell if your interested. O.K. here's a chance to put some nice looking but inexpensive gauges in your boat. The large gauges are white faced and chrome trimed Faria gauges (speedo and tachometer) - the tack is dead, but you can send it to Faria and they will fix of replace FREE - there is a lifetime warrenty on all Faria gauges.
