MOPS in Mukilteo - Evenings & Mornings (Mukilteo)

You are invited to join us for MOPS at Mukilteo Presbyterian Church in Mukilteo.

MOPS is a gathering of mothers of preschoolers open to all moms with kids who are kindergarten age and younger. It is a time for moms to get together with other moms of little ones for camaraderie, fellowship, and social networking.

There are two MOPS groups at Mukilteo Presbyterian Church. One is in the evenings, and the other is the 'classic' group which meets in the mornings.

The Evening MOPS group meets on the 1st and 3rd Mondays each month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., and the next meeting is Monday, November 16th. Typically we have lively discussions, yummy snacks, fun activities, and sometimes speakers at each meeting. Childcare is available. The cost for the remainder of the year is $90.00 which includes the annual MOPS International membership fee, 12 remaining meetings, materials, and childcare ($70 without childcare prepaid). Payment options are available, (and the price is pro-rated based on when you start). Scholarships are available. The group, called 'Southend gamers' on Yahoo at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Southendgamers/?yguid=153926742, has been active over five years and has 117 members - a 60/40 mix of men and women, ages ranging from a high of 78 to a low of 20 with an average of 32. With over 175 games to choose from - classics, party, abstract and Eurogames. We do NOT play wargames nor do we play card games (as in poker or Hearts). Game sessions are held on Saturdays and members can arrive anytime after 11a.m. and may stay till midnight should they choose too. Attending a game session is required at least twice a year to maintain a membership but there are no fees or costs involved. Occasionally game sessions are hosted by other members at their homes. Our average group size is about eight but recent sessions have been as high as twenty and I've had to set a limit at this size. As a member, everyone gets two e-mail notices during the week prior to the session and you have until 5pm on Friday to confirm if you are coming. You should bring your own drink(s) & cash for food and if you have a favorite game, feel free to bring it to introduce to the group. The group newsletter that I produce contains one or two photos of each session that has new members and a brief synopsis of the events and players attending to help members get to know one another better.
We are participating members of the Millionminute boardgaming organization which aims to promote gaming within families and we finished in 10th place Nationwide this year.
We host an annual potluck barbecue that includes both indoor and outdoor games that have been very popular. Outdoor games include games such as bocce ball, croquet, lawn darts (original!), badminton, bean bag baseball, snake ball and a professional ring toss game.
On Fridays, I will notify the group if the session is a no-go.
If you are allergic to cats, be warned - I have two. My home is no smoking 'cept outside.
If you'd like to stop in for a visit to see what's up first, feel free to do so, game night or not. Just call and arrange a meeting.

Is your 2-3 year old ready to try pre-school? Meadowbrook Pre-3's preschool is part of the North Seattle Community college preschool programs and currently has openings. The preschool program in one of the most affordable in the North Seattle area and has the benefits of the co-op system and parent education units from NSCC

The class is broken up to 4 segments - Large Motor Skills, Free Play, Snack/Story time and then Circle time.

Our class meets:
Tuesday evening from 6pm to 8pm
Friday from 9:30am to 11:30am

How a co-op works:
In addition to weekly class commitments, all parents hold a board or committee position (such as parent coordinator, book sales, secretary). Parents meet one evening a month for a 1 hour parent meeting followed by 1 hour of parent education. Parents normally come to one class, then drop off fro the other session, you can indicate your preference on the reg form.

"If you like playing in tournaments that reward creative deck-building and innovative strategy, then Pegasus League is for you! Each month, the League will feature a brand-new format, providing the perfect environment for Duelists in search of fun and unique challenges.

Whatever you want to know about Pegasus League can likely be found here � make a habit of checking the page regularly to find out about the current format, view the upcoming format, and see who and what is doing well!

->This month�s format: �Air, Earth, Fire, and Water�

This format goes into effect NOVEMBER 1, and will run until NOVEMBER 30.

I'm thinking it would be keen to have a discussion group. Perhaps we can have different topics each night, talk about books, obscure ideas, etc. I'm not inclined to be involved in any sort of hate speech / 'jews suck' / how the world is going to end because of Obama, fear-based topics. Life is difficult enough and rubbing your face in fear is never fun.

I am somewhat open in terms of time. As I have done this before I can only think of three rules which were helpful:

no smoking or drinking during the sessions / be respectful / no gum. The last one is mine. I am somehow allergic to how gum is made. Weird, I know.

I welcome a difference of opinion. I sense it's important to note that we attracted a fair amount of people who had a different sexual orientation - If you're bothered by this you will probably want to skip this group. One of the women in the group was totally freaked out when a group member talked about his relationship with his partner. GASP.

I have a padded training area for a group to get together evenings and occasional days. I just need confirmation before coming out to confirm with me so I can get a headcount and a call if you want to reschedule since some guys only come out if i have 4 or more guys coming so a couple no shows makes that not work well. This is a free martial arts traing group of guys from different backgrounds. I hope to match people up with others same size, experience style etc. when preferred but mainly just want anyone any time. If you are fine with 3 person groups that is easy to do but more requires a couple days notice. All sparring is for fun, fitness, self defense training and sport so no actuall all out ego matches unless you lay your money down clown. Kidding, This is not a fancy school but my makeshift training area in my garage. It however does have all that a real school has but no cost. FREE. Myself and a couple others love to teach so come to learn, maybe teach and hopefuly make some lasting friends. Most sparring is at low intensity or with or without hard strikes.
