Job Title: Data Center Engineer
3-6 month contract to hire
Job Objective
Design a redundant, highly capable systems to support a multiyear datacenter working with a group of engineers to generate detailed power, cooling, inside plant cabling and equipment designs for data centers.
Requirements:
DC and AC power plant and PDU infrastructure
HVAC systems
Facility space planning and physical layout of equipment
Physical security systems
Copper and fiber structured cabling systems.
Work cross functionally with IP, server, transport, microwave and RF engineering teams to generate standard designs for facilities based on business requirements.
Generate engineering design packages used by the installation teams
Participate in design reviews, integration testing and implementation in conjunction with technology teams.
Establish KPIs during design phase; ensure test plans are adequate to verify KPIs can be met with new systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
•3-5 years experience in data center design
•Extensive design experience with large scale DC and AC power systems, HVAC systems and structured cabling.
•Experience with networking equipment, knowledge of routing and switching fundamentals and understanding of out of band management systems.
•Strong process focus and project management skills.
•Strong leadership abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills
