Technology Innovations Group, provider of contingent technical staff, is seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer/Operations Engineer to join our team of systems and operations engineers working onsite at Microsoft. This full time position is open immediately.
This position requires an individual who can perform tier III operations, with an emphasis on automating manual tasks. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Provisioning new Windows 2008 servers with Hyper-V using SCVMM
• Developing automation scripting (understanding the .NET Library [C# or VB.NET], Powershell & Batch required. Other languages a plus)
• Build verification and test operations
• Reporting on the state of lab operations
• Ongoing infrastructure improvement and optimization
• Ensure standards of compliance for lab (safety, manageability of servers, professional appearance)
Candidates should have the following knowledge, experience and abilities:
• Proficiency in installing, configuring and maintaining Windows 2003 and 2008 servers
• Proficiency in AD and networking
• Proficiency in IT automation with Powershell
• Proficiency using the .NET library via C# or VB.NET
• Proficiency in virtualization technologies including Virtual Server, Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager
• Proficiency in server cluster setup with an emphasis on virtualization
• Proficiency in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager
• Proficiency in SQL databases
• A minimum of 5 years experience in this field
• A minimum of 6 months experience in racking servers, cabling and lab operations
• Excellent communications skills including collaboration and teamwork
