Position Available:
Lead Cable Technician – this position is responsible for on-site installation, service and repair of low voltage cable systems.
Duties include:
• Installation, troubleshooting, repair and termination of Cat 5, 5e, 6, coax, and fiber optic cable.
• Use test equipment and appropriate hand tools as needed during installation or repair.
• Maintain knowledge of all products the company may offer to the customer.
• Stay abreast of manufacturers’ specifications, upgrades and changes.
• Provide appropriate customer service when responding to a customer request or fulfilling project requirements.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, as appropriate, for customer and other technicians.
Successful candidates will have:
• Experience installing, testing and troubleshooting Copper and Fiber cable systems.
• The ability to supervise small teams of technicians (3 to 5 employees)
• Proficiency with various testing equipments including TDR’s and Light Meters.
• Working knowledge of cabling standards and codes.
• Professional appearance an demeanor.
• Strong communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work on ladders.
• Experience with CCTV and related security equipment a plus
