Best to reside within a 10 mile radius of Bellevue with own reliable transportation due to the on-call basis of this employment and local traffic conditions.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Drive automobile to transport clients. Stand for long periods of time outside of vehicle. May make overnight drives and extended trips requiring irregular hours. May clean vehicle and make minor repairs or adjustments.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
LEGAL REQUIREMENTS for possible candidate selection:
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent;
• Be at least 25 years of age;
• Hold a valid Washington state driver’s license;
• Have a maximum of one (1) minor traffic violation on current record;
• Have no accidents on current driving record;
• Be guilty of committing a maximum of one (1) offense for which mandatory revocation of a driver’s license is provided by the law;
• Have no convictions of vehicular homicide or vehicular assault;
• Not be intemperate or addicted to narcotics;
• Have no convictions for an offense of such a nature as to indicate that candidate is unfit to qualify as a chauffeur.
ADDITIONAL LEGAL REQUIREMENTS following candidate selection:
• Submit a medical certificate certifying the individual’s fitness as a chauffeur;
• Successfully complete a background check by the Washington State Patrol and Alliance;
• Successfully complete a training course approved by the Department of Licensing;
• Successfully pass a written examination;
• Complete a minimum of six (6) hours driving time in a vehicle(s) of the type that will be used in the performance of his or her duties as a limousine chauffeur.
OVERVIEW OF ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND JOB DETAILS
A chauffeur must deal with the mechanistic tasks of inspecting and driving a vehicle and arriving at potentially previously unknown destinations safely and in a timely fashion. In addition, a chauffeur must also be skilled in the art of customer service. The chauffeur plays an integral part in the limousine service client’s experience.
Superb defensive driving and observation skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for completion of the required mechanistic tasks. Patience, punctuality, willingness to serve, and conflict resolution skills are necessary for successful interaction with the client. Ability and willingness to complete thorough pre-run and post-run vehicle safety checks as prescribed by company policy are crucial components of the chauffeur job specification. Must have working knowledge of Puget Sound region, including Downtown Seattle.
