Friends of Youth, a nonprofit housing and human services agency headquartered in Redmond, is accepting applications for the position of Controller. Friends of Youth has a annual budget of over $8M, about 180 employees, and 16 program sites. The agency receives operating revenue from a large number of public and private funding sources and donations. Payroll is done in-house.
Following are some of the job responsibilities for this position:
• Manage the agency’s day-to-day accounting activities
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial reports
• Prepare for and successfully complete the annual public audit of the agency’s finances
• Insure timely billing of grantors for services rendered
• Prepare for and manage the agency’s annual budget
• Develop, implement, and manage accounting systems, policies and procedures

Required and desirable qualifications for this position include:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting
• A minimum of three years experience in managing a hand-on finance and accounting department
• A Master’s degree in business, finance or accounting is preferred
• CPA is highly preferred
• Non-profit and fund accounting experience is highly preferred
• Experience with Great Plains Dynamics is highly preferred
• A belief in and commitment to the mission of Friends of Youth is required.
Compensation, benefits, and other characteristics for this position are:
• Position is fulltime, permanent, FLSA-exempt
• An excellent package of health insurance benefits
• 403(b) plan (similar to 401k) with employer matching contribution after one year
• 3 weeks per year of vacation leave to start
• 12 days of sick leave per year
• Reports to the Director of Administration
• Compensation will depend on the successful applicant’s qualifications
